Woman preaching at NIU?

That’s what this looks like.

Sad.

NIU is in a freefall, no drifting going on in the North Woods. They left the sanity of what they once were and have jumped off the cliff with no parachute, ropes, or other safety devices. The only thing to stop them is the rapidly approaching valley floor. Is this the death knell for NIU? The crash on the valley floor will be a sad spectacle, no victors, no heroes in this scene, just a sad ending.

Sad? Yes. Surprising? No. Though NIU has moved faster than others, what we are seeing is the expected results of what MO began.

    • Have to agree with both of you. We live in interesting times.

Looks like the president of Northland agrees with you that this was a problem. And, as is appropriate, took full responsibility.

While I disagree with some of Northland’s decisions over the past few years, I do have sympathy for Daniel Patz. Northland has been a labor of love by his family for generations; he’s taken on a tough job in large part (I’m guessing) to see that labor continue and perhaps even return to its former flourishing.

    • D4, I agree, though I suspect his youth and naïveté are on display. Probably should have seen this one coming.

Thanks for speaking up here and in the confusing din at SI.
I’m thinking NIU hopes the SBC will take them under their wing to help them survive.

    • Sophia, You are probably right. A faint hope, perhaps?
