Hi Len,

We live on Vancouver Island, a big long island just off the coast of North America (we are on a different tectonic plate than North America, they tell us… or something like that). We are near Seattle WA and Vancouver BC on the mainland. Our island is about 300 miles long, if I remember right. They do everything in kilometers here and I get very confused about measurements.

Anyway, we are separated from the mainland by an hour and a half ferry ride. It always is a pain to go anywhere.
