Pennock speaks God’s truth sort of like Caiaphas in John 11, only a little more cynically. :)

We all know Calvinists are notorious for assuming there’s a Bible behind the Bible (or a will behind “the” will). What God says is not always what He means. He has a PR will and a secret will. His PR will says He’s not willing that any should perish; His secret will says He has willed the vast majority to eternal burnings. And, not surprisingly, it’s His secret will that’s always done! What a mess!!!

Maybe it’s because Calvin himself didn’t really address these verses in his Institutes. He only mentioned Acts 2:23 (twice); 4:28 (twice); 13:36; 20:27; I Cor. 4:5, and did not address what you bring to light, Don. Since Calvin himself didn’t tackle this, his modern day followers will sidestep as well, following his example?

Cry uncle? Certainly not. But I do think the verse is interesting. Haven’t really seen a Calvinist address it. You could be the first, unless you want to cry uncle.

So simplistic! So does a Calvinist cry uncle because you have offered irrefutable evidence? If you are going to reject a theological idea, you really need to demonstrate that you actually understand it first!

If we are predestined for salvation then why would heaven rejoice?
